On the July 8th 2020, H2020 SMILE organized an online workshop and matchmaking event together with Enterprise Europe Network. During this event participants had the possibility to learn about the different Smart Grid technologies demonstrated on islands of Samsø, Madeira and Orkney. The aimed to share experience, knowledge, and best practices, and to stimulate new collaboration between the SMILE partners and other interested stakeholders. Besides the SMILE project partners Clean Energy for EU Islands Secretariat and NESOI were also present at the event. They presented the possibilities for a clean energy transition on European islands.
Participants from multiple (European) countries were present at the event. This created a unique opportunity to initiate and establish new international cooperations in the fields of, amongst others, renewable energy production, smart grids, electric mobility and energy storage solutions. With 23 planned meetings between different stakeholders, some potential new business opportunities may have risen from the event.
H2020 SMILE is happy to announce that in October 2021 another Matchmaking Event will be organized.
